Finance Statistics Discussion :

How is the Average Family Fairing During the Economic Crisis?

Perhaps we could just say - not good! - and leave it to that. The fact is that the average family is really struggling to ride-out these times of austerity measures.

Any company that deals with finance, like Elite Money, for example, will tell you that they are noticing the detrimental impact that seems to be befalling the majority of households in the United Kingdom. Rates of unemployment are at a very high level; wage rises are low or even on a downward trend in many cases; and the overall cost of living is on an uncontrollable rise.

The Government insists on squeezing our finances more and more and at the same time, they are failing to take the necessary precautions that may help to ameliorate the consequences of rising food and fuel prices. The vast majority of the £1.40 you spend on each litre of petrol is made up of pure tax - they could definitely do much more to help us out in this regard.

Then, of course, it is not just the Government that needs to shoulder the blame for these ridiculous price rises. The companies providing us with these products could also be doing far more. For example, petrol companies and the large food supermarkets are continuing to announce massive profits - proof of the fact that they could lower prices and still make a significant enough profit.

Times are very tough at the moment and with no light at the end of the tunnel and the media depressing us all with increasingly gloomy news, it really is just a matter of grinning and bearing it for the time being. Finances for the average family will have to show signs of recovery in forthcoming years.
